    Pavlik-Williams at 160 lbs

Ok, now that the shine has dulled a little on the Williams victory over Winky... Do you all think he's ready for Pavlik? I don't(Surprise) Now I know I'll prolly get **** for being a Pavlik fanboy, but I don't care, so please give me some solid reasons as to why you disagree. Pavlik is a guy who's about the same size as him, has fought at MW consistently for the last few years, and has beaten prime, legit middleweights the last few years. He gets **** for fighting Rubio, and Lockett, but he destroyed the both of them with ease, you have to at least give him that. Williams has none of these things on his resume, save beating a way past his prime, very rusty Winky Wright. Wright fought admirably, no one can deny that, but it was not a dangerous fight. In fact, I would dare say Paul Williams has never fought anyone who's dangerous, I'm not including Margarito because he has been exposed as a fraud. No matter what you say about Pavlik, he beat Miranda and Taylor twice, all three back to back to back. Show me the last fighter at middleweight who took on that kind of competition and defeated them in the last couple of years... I got Kelly by KO, late. He'll wear down Williams, he has a proven chin at MW(gettin knocked down and gettin KO'd are two different things). Williams has an untested chin. He has untested power(Winky is too much a defensive master to measure Williams power against). Bottom line, Williams is untested at MW, Kelly is undefeated and the top fighter at MW. Kelly wins

Pwill got the stamina and workrate to beat Kelly, but not the MW chin imo. Pavlik KO.

If Williams can handle Pavlik's punch he should win fairly easy.

Pavlik's punch isn't the sort of punch that can be dealt with though.

It's certainly a interesting matchup that i would love to see.

This fight will be a mega fight in 2010 if they can both keep winning. Williams has to at least beat Sturm or Forrest to earn a shot at Pavlik or Abraham though. Pavlik needs to beat Mora, and will hopefully be fighting Abraham after that. I expect Pavlik to take a rest after beating AA in the fall, and hopefully by March of 2010 we see this **** go down.

what gives you that idea though?

When has Williams been rocked? wobbled? down?

              Im assuming thats an assumption.

He got shaky for about 5 seconds against Marg in one round, and that was it..

I'm a huge Pavlik fan. I disagree with you that WIlliams has to do anything more to earn a fight with Pavlik. This fight should happen, and I would expect Kelly to win, as well. However, if this fight doesn't come off late this year, early next... the blame is with the Pavlik camp.

watch at :30. If I'm not mistaken he's hurt, and this against Carlos Quintana, a guy I'm pretty sure has nothing close to Pavlik's power. And you can rest assured Pavlik would be landing his right alot more often than most of William's opp's landed there best punch, unless Williams runs, in which cases he loses a UD, cuz he ain't a counter-puncher. Pavlik is both the unstoppable force and the immovable object in this fight, which is why he wins. Pavlik only loses to B-Hop like fighters. This group includes Bernard Hopkins. At 160 Kelly is nearly unbeatable. So far no one has taken him down at 160.
