An insight into Paul Williams recently

Before the Wright fight, Williams would never have been mentioned in the same sentence as Bernard Hopkins, let alone beating him nor would he have been chosen by so many to just walk through pretty much all competition from 147-160...

I don't question Williams talent or threat to title holders from Welter to Middleweight, but it was ONE fight against a man who has been inactive for 2 years, a man that was suited stylistically for him... How could that one display possibly prove his ability to beat top tier fighters like Hopkins?
He hasn't even faced anyone above 147 that could keep up with him or hit harder than him...

He certainly needs to prove himself by facing better opposition at the higher weights before you can start predicting wins against the champions

He beat Any "The Killer" Kolle.

Therefore he whips ass on everybody from Welterweight to Cruiserweight.

Well he went through Wright with not much of a problem, alot easier then BHOP did. I'm not saying that he could beat hopkins it's just an observation.

I disagree with you before the Williams fight Walter Matthysse was dropping boxers like flies and your boy Kermit Cintron who probably does hit harder then him won't fight him.

Really the fight against Wright was a great fight for Williams on many levels, but he still displays the same flaws he always had.

Williams get hit clean way to much, a lot of this is because of how aggressive Paul is but he gets caught often, so a very good puncher or a great boxer could take advantage.

I want to see how Williams does with all sorts of top fighters, but I would also like to see what they would do against him.

Wright hadn't fought for 2 years, and facing an opponent like Wright was never going to make Hopkins look good.

              didn't hopkins call out pwill?

I don't think anyone was saying anything about that fight until hopkins made comments about it.

Good **** Trav. I'm a big Pwill fan, but his hype is outta control. If he could make 147 comfortably, which i don't envision, I think he beats the top guys there. I think he can take all the titlists at 154 also. At 160, the buck stops at Sturm. He could whoop his ass 4 sho, but I don't see him takin AA or Pavlik's punch. I really hope he shacks up at 154 and and runs **** in that division.

154 could certainly do with a solid champ like Williams.

It is good to see some sanity in this forum. Williams would dominate 154, he should be there. He shouldn't be mentioning Pavlik's name, although I think he could possibly take AA if he has a fight or two more at MW against solid opposition. The reason is he has the reach and the speed to win a UD, if he is careful not to get caught by Abraham clean. Experience at weights above 147 is the key
