Kessler seems pretty content to piss away his natural talent fighting people nobody gives a **** about. The winner of Froch/Taylor is going to give him a serious run for that "top" spot at 168, and if he keeps up like he is, he'll lose that, too.

He really had the god given gifts to be something amazing, and for a while, he was.... Until Kostya had him on ***** street in the 2nd round of their fight. After that, he could've gotten himself back together, and mentally focused.

But instead, he lost his title to a guy who sells feather dusters for a living.

After that, he never fought a single fight for more than 5 rounds before finally giving up and opting to play the role of his opponet's sparring partner.
diff is, zab has actually fought some of the best fighters.......

Again two excellent spot on posts from The Bringer. Personly I know Kessler have his lawsuits and all but IMO he have lost his balls and motivation after losing his ''0'' And he's never gonna fight nobody.. Atleast Judah did fight good competition he was just lazy and dumb in the ring.. Kessler is as passiv as it get.

True, but he attemped a completely unification. He if he beat Calzaghe he would have had 3 belts with only the IBF left which was a belt Joe vacated.

Which shows he is willing to fight some very good fighters but since his loss I think his promotors and handlers are scared of another so they are milking him for as much as he's worth without a risk

Dawson - Eh, I don't know. He was probably still hiding from Glenn Johnson somewhere.

Wright - Winky was pricing himself out of everything at that point. he was sitting on the sidelines always talking about coming back, but it took Paul williams to finally get him to come back.

Kelly and Jermain probably did duck him though. He'd be a horrible style match for either of them.

Kessler is one of those rare fighters that excels and has the makings of something truly special but so far doesn't seem to be reaching for such lofty heights. What a complete waste of talent I feel robbed not getting the chance to see him vs the best I really do.

Anyone else feel he's wasting his prime years? Biggest waste of talent within the last decade?
Not a chance, Jab judah was more talented than Kessler.

Just look at round 1 of his fight with Tsysu, he nearly had Kosta out on his feet in round 1.

Now I know none of them are exactly HOFers but they each held a title at one point in time apart from Andrade which shows at worst they are ok fighters. If had beaten Joe then he would have had 3 SMW belts.

I think his management are scared of losing their investment since his loss to Calzaghe and are sticking him in dead end fights and endless mandatories. Hence the reason Kessler is sueing them
thats a good point man pre calzaghe kess was facing good fighters like the ones that you mentioned and beating them comprehensively. in fact in all of those fights he probably lost very few rounds.

he has dominated his level of comp unlike anyone else from the current crop (bute, andrade, froch, taylor) and thats why alot of people like myself rank him so as no.1 in the division. i dont think its entirely fair to critcize his level of comp either because he has beaten 4/5 other guys who when he faced them were top 10 SMW's.

its his mangement that is a problem its not kess, kess is a very likeable guy and every boxing journalist seems to have something good to say about him. he published a letter in early 09 and showed how the likes of dawson, froch, taylor, johnson, calzaghe and hopkins had either turned him down or offered him silly money.

then theres the issue with larsen, its easy to see why the management and the rest of denmark want to see this fight it would be huge over. but for some reason since then kess and his management have gone downhill, before larsen arrived on scene it looked as though a fight might be make with one of the big guns but since then it has all been downhill.

kess imo is the top dog in the division, but he and his management need to come to a solution and soon.

I doubt that very much. Look for the winner to call out Bute. I'm 99% certain that neither want a piece of the viking warrior.

As for the subject: Yes he is wasting his prime. Nothing he can do at the moment. He's trying to get out of his contract since his management has failed to land any big fights. Heck they even failed in landing a huge domestic fight with countryman Mads Larsen.

Kessler must defend his title against the unknown Gusmyl Perdomo from Venezuela who is ranked at no.1 by WBA on basis of him losing a decision to Dimitri Sartison. How on earth the WBA compile those rankings is beyond me.

Still Hopkins was offered 4 million dollars to fight Kessler. Not a bad payday.

Revenge against Calzaghe is Kesslers biggest wish I think. Who can blame him. It would be a good payday and considering how well he performed despite no sparring and a broken hand, I'm sure he'd fancy his chances of winning a return.

Nah, Pavlik had already fought Hopkins by that point.

Though he lost to Hopkins, Pavlik is still an excellent, rugged champion. He calls me a real beast and I say the same about him. That’s a bout I would really get excited about but it seems unlikely.
