Ring belt is the one that matters most. It usually represents the linear title, aside from some rare occasions nobody really acknowledges anyway. Undisputed is havin WBA, IBF, and WBC.
undisputed champs are when they are able to afford all the sanctioning fees and are able to pay off all the organizations
the linear title is when you beat an 80 kostya tszyu
i hope i helped
It will be hard to compete with that unbiased answer, but let's see if I can.
The Ring is the boxing magazine. There are plenty boxing magazine's like KO, and Ringside, but the Ring is held valid above all others and is considered law. The Ring ranks fighters, in their division, their p4p ranking (the Ring's rankings are used by most), and the best fighter of the year/decade. They even created their own Belt, awarded to the fighter that they feel is the divisions true champion based on the ranking system they have. It helps because they don't have all the politics of the other organizations (the organizations can't rank fighters that have other titles from other organizations). Unforatently, as you have noticed, some fighters lately have been doubting the Ring's objectiveness, being that they were bought out by head of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya. But still, most hold their rankings above the others.
Undisputed Champion, means you have 3 world titles in a single weight class. This is not easy to do, because not only must you beat 3 world title belt holders, but you must also deal with the politics (the organizations that give out these belts don't want them being shared by their rival organizations). So the organizations (the WBA, IBF, WBC, and WBO) do everything within their power to prevent that, so when you hold a title you have to fight the fighters they force you to fight. They are the ones that are ranked #2 and are considered mandatory challengers. Also, for every fight that you hold the belt, you must pay the sanctioning fee, and if you are fighting for the belt, you have to pay their fee as well otherwise even if you win you are not awarded champion status. So there it is, Undisputed(Unified) Champion is not only a great fighter, but apparently a genius or a lucky bastard as well.
Lineal Champion. The Lineal champion means the man who beat the man who beat the man who beat... Back in the good ole days when there was just one champion and one world title per division, you would have a clear cut champ, but now that there's 4 world titles per division you have to be undisputed to be considered real champ. When there's no undisputed, then it's the last man who beat the undisputed champion, and the man who beat that man, and the man who beat that man. So right now Joe Calzaghe is technically the lineal champ because he beat Bernard Hopkins, who beat Tarver, who beat Roy Jones, who had all the belts. Or maybe I missed one in that scenario, I'm still sleepy
Thanks for the answers! Im still having trouble understanding Linear, Unified, and Undisputed titles. SMH @ my reading.....
Question: I have read that if PacMan wins on May 2nd, he would win an unprecedented 4th linear title. How does Hatton hold the 140 linear title? His win on Paulie? Or does it go back to his victory over Castillo?

Again, thanks!
Hatton holds the linear title because he holds the Ring Magazine title because of his win over Kostya Tzyu who beat the guy who beat the guy.
