It'll hype up that dream match immensely. In the public's eye, it will look like this:

    Pacman:
    TKOs Oscar
    TKOs Hatton brutally

    Mayweather:
    Split decisions Oscar
Outclasses and knocks out Hatton with a perfectly timed hook

What's gonna' look better to them?

I understand that Oscar at 154 was a much better fighter than the sad version of him at 147, but it shouldn't take all the credit from Pacquiao, he looked spectacular in his own right.

    Sloppy seconds? Judah, Mitchell, Gatti...

Even supposing Mayweather beat a competitive Oscar (at Oscar's weight, glove size, etc), Pacquiao's potentially earth-shattering victory over Hatton in a TKO fashion (given his power) will elevate his status since you have to take into consideration that, contrary to Floyd, Pacquiao is moving INTO Hatton's weight class, not like in December 2007.

Not saying the weight had a large role in Hatton's first loss, but just a detail. As fight fans, we have to savor this moment that we're getting with Pacquiao/Hatton. A potential fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather...well THAT would just be amazing...and if Pacquiao beats him...what a remarkable story Pacquiao will have to tell...

Sorry, I get wrapped in this.

To the thread starters main point; Im a Floyd fan and I love Floyd Sr. so I would hate to see Hatton lose so quickly but I want Pac to destroy Hatton so it makes the Pac-Floyd fight super big. I also dont want Floyd to fight JMM or anyone else before Pac. If Pac kills Hatton early and Floyd goes straight to Pac then that will setup one of the biggest fights in History and Floyd would have to be the underdog and thats where I will get straight paid

Sorry buddy. Floyd has done too much self promoting to ever be an underdog to Pacquiao no matter how long he's been retired.

No way. This Hatton/Pac 24/7 will be hyped. Mainstream fans saw Floyd fight Oscar & Hatton and they also saw Pac fight those guys and beat them way easier. Floyd will be reitred for nearly 2 years and some will say he's past his prime. Pac is in his prime and looks like a straight monster. He's also a Southpaw which gives Floyd some problems. Hatton has been hyped up with the addition of Floyd Sr.

There were alot of people after the Pac-Oscar fight that said that they will slightly favor Pac and alot even said that Floyd would want nothing to do with Pac. Now if Pac kills Hatton? I have to think that Pac would be the favorite, mostly due to Floyd's inactivity. There are even some in this same thread that have said the same thing. They would favor Pac in that instance. Like you said, Floyd has done the self promo stuff but Pac has everyone else doing the promo for him and that carries more weight. You know HBO will drool over him if he kills Hatton

"if pac dominates hatton more then mayweather..."

... then hatton is a shot fighter, not at his prime. Cuz pac always makes them that way.

Hatton from Kostya Tzsyu would never be dominated and destroyed by Pac

                  it doesnt mean anything!!!

mayweather beats his opponents for 12 rounds, pac finishes them early, a win is a win doesnt matter if its by split decision or KO in the first winnings winning
