    Question for everyone...

I think I might know the answer but I was wondering, when you see Floyd Jr. and Ricky Hatton come in the ring wearing Mexican sombreros, do you think it's out of respect or out of dissrespect?

Maybe it's different with each guy.

I know Floyd wore the sombrero in the DLH fight and Hatton wore one in the Castillo fight.

When Roger Mayweather did it, it was blatant disrespect for sure.. He called himself the Mexican assassin for beating up Mexicans..

idk bout hatton.....but floyd did it b/c the fight was on May 5th. Cinco de Mayo, which is a Mexican holiday....no disrespect there. Oscar wanted the fight on or around that date, for that specific reason.

I think they were doing it to try and tell the loads of Mexican fans at the fights that they appreciate them coming out and supporting the fight. I dont see any ill will behind it.

I don't think they wanted the Mexican vote, I was just thinking they either did it for hate or love.

I personally think Floyd did it because his uncle Roger did it against Chavez and got beaten up and maybe this was his "get back".

Hatton on the other hand had nothing but great things to say about Castillo so I don't know if he would all of a sudden come in and then dissrespect Castillo's culture that way...

                  It's more disrespect IMO
But I can guess Hatton did it for the comical factor, I wouldn't say it was as deep as degrading the Mexican culture.
