Can't wait, it's going to be insane. Tickets were only 53 bucks a piece, i'm taking my girlfriend with me. This guy is a legend in the making.

Not sure about legend in the making.. I like JD but I don't see the point of beating the likes of Eastman only to go on and fight someone like Lyell.. No wonder the tickets are cheap.. I think this is a step backwards at an important stage of his career.. I'd rather have seen him fight another prospect like Andy Lee.. Many Irish fighters go to the States in order to gain better experience, but end up being steriofied as crowd pleasers without gaining any significant belts.. Mickey Ward & Pat Lawler come to mind.. This is why Steve Collins came home & cleaned up..
Anyway.. All said, I wish him every success & I hope you have a great night.. Hope your girlfriend isn't too squeemish, as ya man does tend to cut up a bit...

Yeah, I agree with all of your post there. I was looking through his record today, and I can't believe how he is turning out. A few months back he was in The Ring Magazine's top 10 lists for middleweights, but this isn't really going the best for him. The tickets are from $253 bucks to $38...a fighter of his caliber should be selling tickets at MSG, not at the prodential center in Newark, NJ. I'm just going to take the oppurtunity to see him at a smaller venue, it'll still be cool, but i'd rather see him undercarding a big event. Kind of a disappointment if you ask me, I hope that he fights bigger names and actuallys proves himself in the division.

Agreed, Lawlor when younger was top draw.. One of the very few to have stopped Duran.
The only thing that let him down, was he was very one paced.
Ward was even better & falls into (one of the best fighters never to win a world title) category.. I'm gonna be keeping a close eye on JD to. Certainly has potential..
Incidently, the photo on your posts always reminds me of when Bob Foster fought **** Tiger.. I take it, the smaller guy's Langford?
Glad to see Boxing illustrated on your moniker cos The Ring stinks of ****.. Regards, MM

actually - if anything the prudential is bigger or similar to MSG. it's just that the promoter has a regular space there, that's why adamek has been fighting there and duddy will too.

I'm not sure what they're doing with Duddy, perhaps buying some time for a title shot or making him improve under Burns. I dont know but I don't like where his career is going if he's going to cap out at fighting people like Lyell.

I love Duddy myself, and though he had much better defense last time out, he does need to step up his opponents more quickly to the top and not take steps back by fighting mediocre boxers. Also, he needs to get back that KO power. It's great his boxing more instead of brawling, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to rack up the KO's! I've watched all Duddy's fights going back to around 2005, and learned about Pavlik when I was trying to figure who Duddy may have to fight, before Pavlik was near the top. Personally, I think Kelly will knock him out though.
