The best way to get all these old guys to retire is by getting these young guys to beat them instead of the other way around. Can't hate on the vets for schooling the youngsters though, not their fault that promoters put em up against them thinking they'll be a walk in the park.Comment

first, I doubt that Hatton and Pacquiao only have 1 or 2 fights left in them. The current main PPV sellers are flirting to only have 1 or 2 fights left in them(Pacquiao/Hatton).
JMM is finally in the picture for money fights but is also 36. Mosley only wants mega fights. Nobody knows how serious is a Mayweather comeback.
So what's in store for boxing after all these "mega-fights" are done?
Juan Diaz, Victor Ortiz, Andre Berto, Amir Khan, James Kirkland, Alfredo Angulo, Chris Arreola, Breidis Prescott, Chad Dawson, Paul Williams, Miguel Cotto, Juanma Lopez, Mikkel Kessler, Timothy Bradley, David Haye, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Jermain Taylor, Arthur Abraham, Kelly Pavlik....these guys have the potential to take over for the old guys...
Who will you be rooting for in 2010, when your old faves are gone?
2nd, I see them losing, and passing the hype to the guy that beats them. I can easily see that happening if Ricky Hatton fights Victor Ortiz, which may happen since both of them are with Golden Boy(I believe...)
surprisingly, I think Marquez is ripe for the picking. ok, not ripe, but hes starting to get to the age where hes going to start slowing down. I would not be too surprised if we saw Bradley or Valero beat him in the future. If Valero does pull that off(assuming that fight happens), he will have a ton of hype surrounding him, with his infinite KOs.
and then there are all the other big fights that other people have mentioned in the thread. Im not assuming my ideas will happen in 2010, but they might happen sometime more down the road.
also, Andre Ward might gain some hype if he can take care of Miranda impressively. look for him vs. Kessler threads polluting the board in 2010(because Kessler still wont have fought a meaningful fight by then)Comment
