    Did Williams Reject Pavlik?

During the Paul Williams beating of Winky Wright, Larry Merchant laughed off the claim that nobody will fight Williams and said that Williams rejected an offer from Kelly Pavlik. Is this true? If so why did he turn it down, I thought he would fight anybody, anywhere!! I think Williams would beat Pavlik and can't understand why he would turn it down! Or is the hardest interviewer in the business talking out his ass?

This isn't true. Pavlik/Arum didn't like what they were getting(purse) so he went with the more lucrative Hopkins but still got ****ed up. That would have been Williams biggest pay check to date(I think), you actually think he'll let that go?

Nah he's right. There was no real money involved with a fight with Williams and they took the bigger purse with Hopkins.

Come later this year or early next year it "might" be a different story.

there is always a reason why a fighter don't fight another fighter when offered. 95% of the time the fighter has NOTHING to do with it. AT ALL!!!! Fighters Fight. They are managed like a robot. Its sucks ass...This happens a lot in fresh to the game fighters . fighters like BHOP DLH Mosley and so on have been doing it for some time they call their own shots....

theres two way of looking at it either kelly genuinely believes that hes a much better fighter and deserves a bigger payday or he sees williams as a legit threat and therefore wanted to make sure he got the best deal possible.

there are fighters who make contact with other fighters and try to get the fight made but when you look at the demands that they have its clear that dont want no part of the other guy. they just get in contact with the other group for publicitys sake and then come out and say they tried to make the fight happen but it didn't work, classic example is calzaghe and hopkins in 02.

I didn't think he would turn down a fight with Pavlik but when Merchant said that it got me thinking. I would love to see Williams fight Pavlik! I would pick Williams by late stoppage!

Could be a good fight, but Pavlik would KO Pwill. Supposedly Pwill didn't like the $, and Pavlik didn't think he'd get any props.

If it comes off....I got all my points on Paul....feel free to bet with me.

Pavlik simple went for the bigger name and money in Hopkins.

But on the fight..Pavlik has a punchers chance..and considering he hasnt kod anyone in a minute...and Pauls chIN..it means no chance.

Paul would junp on Pavlik....and its funny because Winky wouldve schooled Pavlik IMO.

The triangle theory doesnt work in boxing just cause u think one boxer can beat another doesnt mean the one that lost cant beat the one that beat he lost 2. It doesnt matter if winky can beat pavlik or not styles make fights and pavlik nor winky nor williams fight nothing alike
