To be honest I don't see it with Quarless. He wasn't that fast.

Here are his two best performances:

Here's "Dynamite" Dokes handling John L. Gardner:

Also Rocky Marciano shouldn't be anywhere near the top 10. He was quite slow compared to the fastest heavyweights. Even Walcott, Moore and Charles were beating him to the punch all the time.

He was just very persistent and waited until the later rounds when his foes would slow down to land his own punches.
Yeah... Good call! Forgot about him... Gonna stick to the Queens English from now on... Abreiviations never been my strong point... Quarless was faster than Charles! You ever see Charles take out guys like that?? With regard to Walcott, Moore & Charles, boxing's all about hand speed, so why did the Rock whoop em all?? Early speed means nothing unless you can take it to the bell...

Boxing is not all about speed, a lot of it is about timing. In Rocky's case he was all about superior strength and conditioning.

Noel Quarless from my neck of the woods. He was rapid and hit hard.

          Fastest has to be Ali

You're obviously quite intelligent & seem to know your chosen subject more so than most of the ( Can't be bothered to reply to's) That establishes your a decent fan/participator, especially with the video's included, makes you a worthy "undisputed champion" Fair play!
However.... I very nearly tried to bate you on ( Don't give me the "Super Human thing" ) with regard to the Rock.. I'm glad I didn't because you've just explained it correctly WITHOUT me having to wind you up for a passionate answer.. Indeed, timing plays a huge part, which is why a lot of the old guys get sparked as speed of mind orchestrates sleight of hand/timing.. I conclude a split decision in your favour due to the fact that Quarless never went the distance with anyone special, but still say that Marciano was faster than anyone in the trenches, & YES, his conditioning was trully outstanding... Regards MM..

Ali has to be #1.And if Tony Tubbs is in there, then so should Michael Dokes, and definitely Greg Page.

mike tyson was alot faster than ali
repeated quick jabs is ALOT easier than repeated actual punches(hooks etc)

If your gonna have Jones in there he has to be number 1.. and the rest is pretty accurate, Marciano was a bit of a wild choice though..
