I always find threads like this weird because I generally feel saddened about what happened but it just seems like there is no meaning in ''RIP''.

I hope his family pull through this and I hope he can rest in peace.

Komatsu wasn't one of the best fighters Japan has ever produced, but his gut-checking fight style in the ring and gentle demeanor outside the ring were widely acclaimed among Japanese boxing fans. Upon reading the news on a JP website, words failed. I'm completely at a loss for what to say. His fights against Wongjongkam and Daisuke Naito, in both of which Komatsu was defeated, will long be remembered as a shining moment of a Japanese flyweight with the soul of a Titan.

Rest in peace, Komatsu. You will be missed tremendously. You will not be forgotten.
