Floyd Sr: "Ricky is a fast learner and overall, a better fighter than Oscar"

“Oscar is not as fast a learner as Ricky Hatton,” Mayweather, Hatton's trainer, said. “It has taken years for Oscar to get where he is but Ricky catches on real fast. Ricky is a better fighter than Oscar but there is the issue of who is the bigger man in the ring. Ricky has learnt a lot already but there is still so much more he can learn because he is willing to learn.

Prime v.s. prime, DLH. Now, Hatton, no question about it.

I think you guys are missing Floyd's point. He's saying he's a better natural fighter and he learns the craft quicker. Which isnt surprising. Ricky is a very good athlete, and basically trained himself to a piece of the welterweight title and the undisputed light-welterweight title.

floyd sr is just saying that because he is currently with hatton. He knows that hatton doesn't have the same boxing abilities that dlh had in his prime. dlh in his prime is levels above hatton.
