cotto vs Williams in 147?

I could undersatnd how the Cotto fans would say Cotto, but realistically I don't think he could at all. Cotto has short hands and Williams is just to active, Cotto can not be able to block all those punches from different angles plus Cotto would have to reach real high in order to hit Williams face. Very bad match up for Cotto, I would love to see it though. If Williams could make 147lbs, he might be the best WW, Mosley might be able to beat him but that's really the only one who could give him any competition.

Exactly, how the hell is Cotto going to be able to do body work on Williams if he couldn't even do it against Margarito who was basically in front of him all the time. Williams is much taller than Margarito and uses his jab more so than Tony. There's no chance Cotto wins this fight.

Williams is the black version of Margarito, except he's taller, lankier and a much better foot work and body movement. So he would basically destroy Cotto in a similar fashion Tony did.

I personally dont want to see Paul below 160 at this point. After dominating a top 3 160 pounder, I think he does himself a disservice by dropping to 147. I think it hurts him. He's almost 6-3. Cottos what 5-6, 5-7. Almost a foot. Cotto would get killed by Williams at this point. All paul would have to do is just stand tall.

I'm a fan of both,but this is how Cotto losses,the Punisher comes in from the opening bell,behind that huge jab pushing Cotto back to the ropes where Cotto sits on the second rope and basically gets pummeled for about five rounds then quits at the beggining of the sixth,oh and by the way,the biggest thing everyone forgets,is that the Punisher does impossible inside work himself,so nowhere is safe!!

Cotto can very well lose this fight and by KO!..Williams has great stamina and his output is AMAZING!..1000+ punches in his fights..that's effin GREAT!..

my only concern with Williams is that he doesn't fight tall like he could/should..and if he gets inside..Cotto is one of the best short distance power hitters since Tyson!..like Emmanuel Steward once said..so Cotto can dig that body and his mass can push Williams..

Williams punches do come from ALL angles..and that's his best attribute that I've seen in him..along with his Stamina...Cotto can Stiff Jab Williams..I know his reach is no where near that of Williams but Williams doesn't fight using his height and reach so the jab WILL/WOULD connect!..

It would be a GREAT fight..and Cotto can get his ass handed to him due to Williams freakish stamina and his output..but I'll never count Cotto out..He's got POWER and SMARTS..so the 2 can overcome Williams will and confidence!..

I'm anxious to see how Williams does at 147 again tho..cuz his last 2 at that weight he went 1-1 and got schooled ugly in one and dominated ugly in the other..but that was a B-Level guy at that..so I wanna see him there against a Top 5 WW for me to be convinced that he can make 147 and have no problem with the weight..

I dont think it would be wise for Williams to keep jumping up and down in weight like this because it might take its toll one of these day. He should just stay put.

If this fight happened, and if Williams was not weight drained, he stops Cotto. He's is just too big and throws too many punches. Cotto is not strong or durable enough to handle Williams in my opinion.

I don't know, Williams has never been ****** to the body hard. He's got a long body which leaves plenty of room I think you're overlooking Cotto here.

I say Cotto busts him up on the inside to the body but he has to pressure hard for the first 6 in case he gets tired down the road- just to build a lead and pressure Williams into making mistakes and to make him feel Cotto's power.
