The 1 Question That We Havent Talked About?

I remember when the Winky-Williams fight was made, we started saying that it could be a good preview to see how rusty Floyd will be in his comeback. I think Winky was off for 19 months and it will be 2 years for Floyd if he comes back in September. Did you think Winky looked rusty and does this change anything you feel about Floyd coming straight back to fight a Pac or even a JMM? Do you think that last nights fight scared Floyd in any way and now he may be thinking about fighting a lesser opponent to knock off the rust?

Winky v Pwill has no relevance to PBF v any of the guys he could potentially fight. Bottom line, Mr boat buyer should stay retired if he ain't goin after the WW title.

Im talking about the fact that half the people think Floyd will come back and be the same ole Floyd in his very 1st fight and the other half say that there is no way you can leave boxing for 2 years and be the same exact guy instantly, e****aly when your an older fighter now. The situation definatly isnt the same but its not exactly apples & oranges either, e****aly if he fights Pac. There are alot of similarites. Alot of people said that Williams would beat Winy because Winky is too defensive and doesnt punch much. Alot of people also say that Pac will beat Floyd because he's too defensive and only pot shots now. Then you have the fact that like Williams, Pac is a Southpaw who throws non stop punches and is super fast. Maybe you dont want to take that fight in your 1st match back

I dont know about that. 32 isnt exactly young and alot of people were saying that they think Floyd is slowing down and not nearly as fast or as good as he was when he was younger

He's never taken heavy damage in any of his fights. He stays in shape, so it ain't like he'd have to struggle to get in fightin condition. He's had plenty of time to heal whatever problems he may have had wit his hands. He left at his peak. He'll be just fine if he comes back. He'd KO Pac or JMM at 140. More importantly, he'd likely UD SSM and KO Cotto at 147.

Nope, real talk homey. I respect SSM and Cotto enuf to give em a chance against him, but I think they'd lose. And cats would still criticize PBf is he beat Pac and/or JMM at 140. If he beat SSM and/or Cotto at 147, nobody could say ****.

Winky lay-off was 21 months, and if Floyd fights in September it will also be 21 months... Floyd is in good shape now though. Winky is 39 Floyd is 32 so its hard to determine that the outcome will be the same because there is 7 years difference, plus Floyd retired in his prime (whether he will be in it when returning I don't know). We can't just use Winky as a measuring stick for Floyd because they are different fighters and people, they will react to the lay-off either similarly or differently nothing can determine whether he would or wouldn't.

Either way, if Floyd returns, I would recommend his September bout being a tune-up to sharpen his skills... he has been inactive for 21 months nobody can blame him for taking a small fight where he can take some of the rust off to help sharpen him up for a bigger fight later on, if he was to pick JMM in a tune-up and looks good then we could say that the lay-off hasn't effected him.

We will never know until we see him train or spar or have another fight, different fighter react differently to these kinda lay-offs.

I think he should take on dela Hoya again. It is a good pay, a sure win, and would take off the rust. Dela Hoya would be tempted a last hurrah.

And if PBF loses, a trilogy in the making, more money for him.
