Boxers who've earned more respect in a loss then in their previous wins

Evander Holyfield being beaten by Bowe comes to my mind.. Evander showed the heart of a champion and even though he lost the fight he won respect from the public.

Also RJJ loss in the olympics.. People new it was bull**** and stood by him.

    Who you got?

Kessler, now Kessler needs to fight someone probably like Bute or winner of taylor/froch. And Kessler really got hyped up in the states after he man-handled Andrade for 12 rounds. That is the fight that earned his shot at Calzaghe I believe.

I agree, Keslser does need to fight a name, he's pissing away his prime.. It's too bad he's up to his neck with lawsuits

Yar. I was a Cotto fan for a long time, but I NEVER had the amount of respect for him as I do now, after seeing all that he went through for the Margarito fight.

Marquez vs pac/diaz. Seeing him WANTING pac, and doing a better job then him, mostly and then JMM taking on the younger champ. Takes balls and a great mind.

But I got respect for Diaz now for fighting until he dropped. Ain't a fan, but he's got guts and balls! I'll be watching more of him that's for sure.

Sturm has won 3 belts, but the DLH 'loss' got him more shine than those wins.

Hatton. I forgot Hatton. When Floyd KO'd him, afterwards, he didn't play any excuses and still doesn't... the ref did **** up the fight but it was "the perfect shot" none the less.

                    Pavlik-Taylor I.

I was just the opposite... I kept insisting Taylor was good because he was winning, and Pavlik was the perfect style of opponent for him... and then he blew it. I lost my respect for his game in that fight, but everyone else got back on the Taylor train.
