should Williams take a fight with Jermaine Taylor

Williams Taylor sound good to anyone? Or Should he jump right on Pavlik Abraham Or Kelsser? How About Mosley at 154?

Taylor would rip off Williams' head and eat it.

      Are you serious?

I actually think Taylor is a pretty easy fight for Williams.

What does Taylor do? Back up, and not let his hands go... I wonder how Williams will deal with that.

Williams whips Taylor's ass into shape.

How is Williams going to deal with Taylor's speed? Remember Taylor would back up into the corner, but he'd fought off of it. I think that's vital because you can still catch Williams getting careless with distance. He'll get in his opponenet range with his hands down. Quintana took advantage of thise repeatedly. Winky couldnt get off last night. Taylor would get punches off with ease.

He'll deal with it by throwing twice as many punches as the inactive Taylor. I can't imagine Jermain "drop my hands" Taylor is going to show some Willie Pep like defense to make Paul miss a lot. In addition, Taylor, regardless of the bull**** hype he had before the Hopkins fights, is not a power puncher, and Williams has a terrific chin.

I just don't see a way that Taylor can win.

I mean, ****, Kelly Pavlik outworked Taylor with a two punch variety... jab and right hand. Throw in hooks and uppercuts coming from miles away and I see an even worse outcome for Jermain Taylor.

Williams has shown a terrific chin against Welterweights and a soft punching Middleweight. I give him credit for eating Verno Phillips' punches, but some of that sting was taken off from him having to wing himself at the much taller man. Looking past the outcomes of his recent fights, I still think Taylor is a good puncher.

Taylor improved on the mistakes he made agaisnt Pavlik in the rematch by keepng his hands up more and side stepping more. I think overall he works better under Burns anyway. Taylor is not inept on defense. I agree that his stamina and workrate will be an issue as the fight goes on. I dont deny Taylors toughness though and I see him taking rounds early.

how does this fight make any sense? why not mosley at 147?

williams would destroy pavlik and kessler.

I think williams would get dropped once against abraham but he would get right back up and change his game plan and out box abraham to a decision. thats the only tough fight I see out there for williams.

I'm still not sold on Williams being a force at 160 and above yet. A good fighter yes. A guy who will beat the likes of Taylor, Abraham, and Pavlik? I'm not sure yet.
