Did Paul Williams really call out Joe Calzaghe?

your crazy. Calzaghe wins because he throws and lands a hell of alot more punches than his opponents. Calzaghe on average throws more punches than flyweights; 950 to 1050 punches over a 12 round fight.
Williams throws a **** load of punches as well. He nearly doubled Margarito's output (104.7 to 54.3 per round- the same Margarito who holds the Compubox record of 1675 punches thrown in a fight.
The deciding factor: Williams throws his punches correct while Calzaghe doesn't carry as much pop because he uses a slapping motion. (yes, i know but it is still a huge factor in a fight.)
Williams may just beat Calzaghe.Comment

I can see what you're saying, and agree with everything you said, apart from the last sentence.your crazy. Calzaghe wins because he throws and lands a hell of alot more punches than his opponents. Calzaghe on average throws more punches than flyweights; 950 to 1050 punches over a 12 round fight.

Williams is a big welterweight, for sure, but is he "light heavy boiling down" big? I'm not convinced.
Williams KO ratio is average among top WW's, Calzaghes is average to above average among top SMW's. With the size difference, the fact that Joe would clearly be more comfortable at the weight and Joe's granite chin, PW would have absolutely no chance at scoring the KO.
There are two ways to beat PWill, both shown by Quintana in their first fight: Lateral movement and hooks (PWill doesn't have great defense vs hooks).
How does Calzaghe fight? Lots of lateral movement and blisteringly fast hooks.
PWill gets schooled in this one, and badly too (possible stoppage).Comment
