Former undisputed junior middleweight champion Winky Wright is not planning to sit back on the recent loss to Paul Williams. He wants to return to the ring as soon as possible. Winky is a G if he comes back and Fights AA or Pavlik. I wouldn't be suprised if he does a rematch with Taylor at 168. Or get the winnner or Taylor/Froch. I think he was a BIT rusty from the Lay Off, BUT that wasn't the REASON he lost. It was because Williams threw Punches in every angle like he stated.
I still think Winky can do big things in 160-168.Comment

Winky is cool and I love him but he took some vicious punishment from Williams. And Williams gained my respect last night, he clearly dominated a game Winky Wright. I would not consider it a smart move to rush back in the game after getting dominated by Williams, Winky was hurt last night against the ropes and his face also was pretty damaged.Comment

I'm the guy that thought Winky was going to demolish Paul Williams, and all I can do is eat my words. Not only did Paul dominate Winky, but he dominated an in shape, focused, and sharp Winky Wright. Winky would have beat 95% of fighters from JMW, MW, or SMW last night. I see no reason why he can't beat up somebody in one of those divisions and be a title holder again.
Paul Williams is amazing right now though. I respect Margarito's work against Williams more than ever now. I still think he is a beatable MW (I'd favor Pavlik or Abraham) but nobody at WW or JMW can come close.Comment

I thought Wright would school him as well. Margarito hurt and rocked Paul a couple of times because he was willing to walk through shots to land his own. Most fighters are not willing to do that and end up being overwhelmed by fighters like Williams and Margarito. Merchant is right in that pressure from a big lanky fighter is different than from a short stocky one.
When Williams goes up against someone with great power like AA or Pavlik he may be in trouble if he throws that many shots leaving himself wide open to counters.Comment

winky would be a great fight for both angulo & kirkland. Winky doesnt really have any mega fights @ 154 or 160. Can he land a fight vs pavlik or abraham? would they even want to?Comment

Paul Williams should be calling out Strum, Pavlik, Abraham. Use Bernard's "racism" if needed. You don't have to be polite and mad at the same time!Comment
