Again, think people are getting a little too carried away, i can definitely see Williams Decisioning mayweather at 147. But I can see Mayweather potshotting him for jokes too. Mayweather is a master at angles and timing, he would not square up to paul, hands up, blocking shots to land shots. He would punch on the run and keep willliams moving. Williams defense is dodgy as hell when the punch isnt coming from straight on at him.

I really think Mayweather could get it done, good fight though.

Mayweather is too small to beat PWill.

            P4P he's a better fighter.

I think Mayweather would win it, he would be moving around a lot on Williams and landing right hands over the top, the movement would neutralize Williams' workrate and would make Williams reach in as he does when his opponents move on him.

Yeah, Mayweather should be able to beat him, but I'd highly recommend a tuneup fight first after the layoff. Quintana dropped Williams' workrate way down with the movement and Hopkins dropped Calzaghe's down with his counters. Floyd would use a combination of both and since he has pretty long arms himself, Paul would be hitting air and then getting clocked all night.

Exactly, Mayweather just needs to be careful not to lay on the ropes too long because then he'd just get outworked by Williams. If Williams had a better jab and tighter defense, I'd pick him to win because he has the physical tools to do it but he still has quite a few flaws there, his jab is too soft to keep Mayweather off balance and he's too open to punches, especially when he leans down, which he does quite a bit. And as you pointed out, Mayweather has long arms, which would negate Williams' reach a little. Mayweather would win it.

Over the top? Mayweather would have to jump just to get close to Williams' face and he would have to give up any distance he had just to have a shot at hitting him. Williams' workrate seems to never slow down and he moves around much more than Mayweather does to begin with.

Mayweather would win an easy decision. Paul Williams can't deal with Floyd's movement and slickness.
