He tried but HBO would not fund the fight. Both guys were ready but neither of them are enough of a draw, so HBO won't spend the money.

hbo isn't the only place to fight, showtime would've took the fight. but the fact of the matter is paul left the ww division and clottey is still there looking for a opponent.(that is until cotto gave him a shot)
