It wasn't so much a decline of winkys skills

As it was a bad style matchup for him. The factors against winky were just too much: 21 month layoff, style hes always had trouble with, reach advantage for williams, much younger opponent etc

I can still see winky holding his own with a few fighters around those weights, he's definitely not a shot fighter- his chin is still solid (he took plenty of shots- even when pwill buzzed him he held his composure) and his defence still looks ok, it's just the volume of punches paul threw, they just kept creeping in through winkys guard

Paul looked fantastic tonight, fast, sharp punches, incredible volume of punches to overcome winkys tight defence, good power (stunned winky a few times- not easy to do)

The sky is the limit for paul now- he's a really classy fighter, and i see him beating everyone at JMW, MW and SMW

Dude took his licks without gettin hurt, and he never really looked tired. Pwill just outworked him. He was too slow to deal wit a guy who threw so many shots.

I partly agree. He is a bit older and will struggle with younger faster fighters. I could still see him with a few more notable victories. He's just a guy that is a rock and will be there for 12 rounds.

However, there are not that many options for him. Partly because I doubt he's going to drop weight and fight at 154 where there are names.

At 160 there are two guys. An AA fight won't happen and Pavlik isn't going to fight him. That leaves him with hardly any options. He won't move up because we saw where that got him.

I think it was a combination of both. Wink has slowed down a bit.

yeah he has undoubtedly slowed a bit, thats just natural at that age, but that wasnt the main reason for his loss

winky was never a big puncher and that was the difference. paul had very good workrate and stamina but never hurt winky. winky would land on paul but it wouldn't have no effect on paul. so the difference was pauls workrate and 1000 punches(even though he only landed 23 percent of those)

He wont beat Arthur Abraham, Kelly Pavlik, Mikkel Kessler, Jermain Taylor, Librado Andrade, or B-Hop. I can see him beating Felix Sturm, Jeff Lacy, some of the contenders at middleweight, and a couple top 10 guys at super middle.

He slowed down a bit? That was one of his most active fights that I've seen, sure his timing was probably off but the way you fight people with tight defense is by out throwing
them, especially in different combinations and angles. He got out hustled and that was a bad match up for Winky, he can respect and acknowledge Williams skills and Winky has a smart boxing brain.

I agree with this... I've said it all along that it was just a really bad style matchup.

Wright actually looked really good early... his timing was there, he just didn't have the workrate to cash in on it.

Winky looked in decent shape... He'd give Pavlik a run for his money i reckon

his punches looked crisp and quick
