Every fight i see at Hw these days is between two fat guys ,that burn out by rd 4 ,why arent these promoters going after former football or basketball players people that have been strength training for years, just a thought what do you guys think?

Boxers need to start boxing young in order to be successful.

Very few take up boxing late in life and succeed.

The only heavyweight fighters we get back here in Aus are ex footballers and it ain't pretty.

Boxing is not something that you can do well after being a competative athlete in some other sports usually.
Boxing is not just about a specific physical fitness, it is a mindframe that you are either born with or trained into from young age.

That goes especially important for heavies, I think the only semi succesful heavy that transfered from another sport is Travis Walker.
Sergio Martines is another example, but he is a super welterweight

Well, David Haye is going to the gym on a frequent basis as opposed to the Burger King visits by some of the recent fighters we been watching. He got some defensive flaws though, but at least he'snt chipping for air after 2 rd's..
