I agree, but there's a double standard here.

People say 'oh, i don't like mayweather or hamed or Hopkins because they are arrogant. i respect they are great boxers, but i don't like them'. Then, when they find out their countryman or favourite fighter is also an *******, they say 'focus on the boxing. who cares what happens outside the ring'.

    Hypocrites.

Mayweather is an ******* for talking alot, but it's OK that Miguel es un borracho (not saying he is)

What I admire Cotto for, is for what he does in the ring and not outside of it. He can fight his uncle, do some lines, **** till his **** drop off and drink till he doesn't know his name. As long as he shows up for a fight and gives us his best, I don't care what the **** he does. No one should judge Cotto for whatever may go on his personal life, it doesn't affect his profesional life so it's none of our business. No one judges any of us for the **** we do, why should he be any different.
As long as you apply that same standard to everybody, then COOL.

I don't believe it. There is no way in the world a fighter could lose his belt over a family altercation that had zero to do with his career. Plus his uncle threw the first punch and bricked HIS car, so no.

Thing is, part of the reason I liked him was his demeanor. I saw him as a guy who's all business, calm, collected, serious, and focused. Many people told me he was just an arrogant prick, and I refused to believe it, and defended him. I kinda agree with what you're saying, and I understand where you're coming from, but I was not a fan of him just because I thought he was a nice guy. I've met Tito, and he's the nicest guy ever. I was never a Tito fan, yet when I saw him we talked for a while and it was like talking to one of my boys. I also met Calderon and he was dope as **** too. Juanma I've also heard is way humble and tight. If they can be like this with their fans, why can't Cotto?

No soy puertorriqueno. But i never got the feeling that Miguel had the connection with boricuas that Tito did. You could see the genuine love for Tito. It's more like PR accepts Miguel porque el es campeon.

I think you're wrong bro. At first ppl disliked Mayweather for the same reason they disliked Ali, for been ****y. For the past few years, ppls have dislike him for a different reason, he doesn't give us the fights we wanna see. He got away taking on weaker opposition, making more money (which is good for him, not for the fan) and keeping his p4p status no matter what stiff he fought. I don't think Cotto's level is all that neither, but he's about to unify, and lately fought Margarito and Mosley.
I heard from ppl who met Floyd, that he's one of the coolest cats out there, I've met Cotto and I cant say the same about him. and that doesn't sell tickets.

Great point. No one ever notices this.

I love that whenever I say anything against Cotto, people say I'm a Mayweather fan. What does that have to do with anything? I didn't know there was a rule that you can only LOOOVE one and HAAATE the other. I've also said a lot of negative stuff about Mayweather, did I do this because I'm PRican? Nothing positive or negative I say about ANYBODY has to do with my nationality. I don't let that dictate my opinions, unlike most people.

Vanished? I always said that I had the picture on a cellphone and didn't have the program to put it on here. If any of the PR posters ever meet me in person (and actually give a **** about it), I'll gladly show them the pic.

If you don't see anything wrong with that incident, you're extremely messed up. The Mayweathers get called ***********al, and as far as I'm concerned, nothing like this ever happened between them. Also, the main beef I had was with how he dissed the media, saying that the problem between himself and his uncle was a fabrication, and now look at this. That makes him a liar, and he lied in the worst way possible - with insults and attacks.

So, should Manny lose his P4P status for fighting the same guys? Two years older?
