Lets Say Floyd Mayweather does come back......

He comes back at 140, and fights a tune up fight.
Lets say its against someone the level of Edner Cherry, Gianluca Branco, or even Demetrius Hopkins (someone just to shake the rust off).
He doesnt get the KO but wins comfortably (lets say 10-2 or 11-1) but its a pretty uneventful fight.

The question is if a scenario likethis occurs... Where do you place him back in the P4P picture?

I predict his tune-up fight, if ever, would be against JMM at jww.

    Why?

Because of JMM`s age, and if PBF defeats JMM he will immediately take the P4P spot at #2 or even #1. After which there will definitely be a showdown with Pac to end the controversy.

He may not have class B tuneups, it will be too much of a risk for future mega-fights.

Outside the Top 10. He will have to win a meaningfull fight to be ranked again.

he might have a different definition of "tune up" than I do also.

He might consider someone the level of Torres or Holt a "Tune Up" fight.

Still after a tune up, he should not be ranked in the top 10. And if he gets ranked it should be 9 or 10.

He needs to win a meaningfull fight to be top 3 again.

But I bet some idiots will put him at number 1 right away!!!!!

He'll be number 1 again, no one has dethroned him. Pacquiao was made number 1 by default after Mayweathers retirement. A win over the number 2 P4P(JMM) at 140 will just solidify him as still the number 1 P4P.

In the scenerio you provided I voted outside the top 10. To place Floyd atop the Pound 4 Pound rankings would be a descredit to Manny Pacquiao.

Upon returning Floyd needs to do something significant in order to be recognized.

I do agree though that a dominant performance over Marquez would catapult him to the top.

You're right because a dominant performance over Marquez is something Pacquiao couldn't even do in both fights. Plus 140 is just 5 pounds north for Marquez and he already KO'ed two Lightweights that have never been KO'ed before(Casamayor, Diaz). A fight at 140 would be perfect for both Mayweather and Marquez.

Im a huge Floyd fan but I wouldnt put him in the top 10 if that happened. In my mind though, I could never ever ever see that happening. 1st off I dont think he would fight any guys like that. There too beneath him. If he did fight them though, they would definatly be KO. No way he would look boring back near his natural weight and against those guys. He would dominant them Gatti style, even with the rust. I say that he will either fight a Bradley, JMM, or the Pac-Hatton winner. More then likely it will be JMM or the Pac-Hatton winner and Im pretty sure he will just try to go straight to Pac if he wins
