Clottey beat up Chico (RIP) pretty bad in his last fight before he died.

            Lloyd Honeyghan
            Jess Willard
            Sam Langford

All these fighters left the sport, with a rather bad beating or a KO loss. Which is sad, as most of them were all great fighter's in their prime.

Lots more, but just a few that come to mind.

Hamed never actually left the sport with a beating, he left on a winning note. In pretty lackluster fashion he defeated tough Manuel Calvo for the vacant IBO Featherweight title on UD 12.In what would be his final bout.

Except Hamed fought one more time against Manuel Calvo after losing badly to Barrera so although it was one of his last fight's he didn't leave boxing that way.....

I dout the percentage would be that high, lots of fighters have left the sport on a winning note or not had a beating.

                  Carlos Monzon
                  Rocky Marciano
                  Ricardo Lopez
                  Eder Jofre
                  Lennox Lewis
                  Khaosai Galaxy
                  Gene Tunney
                  Larry Holmes
                  Tiger Flowers
                  Marvin Hagler
                  Mickey Walker
                  Miguel Angel Gonzalez

All these fighters went out on wins, or never got a beating. There are plenty others, just a few that come to mind.
