Max Baer was NOT ***ish. His grandfather or great-grandfather was ***ish, but that he married out of the faith made him not much of a ***. Baer only began wearing the Shield of David on his trunks after Hitler got into Power in Germany and persecuted the ***s. It was done as a PR stunt, to publicise his upcoming fight with Max Schmeling, the German heavyweight, and had NOTHING to do with any sort of ***ishness, of which he possessed almost none.

Bummy Davis was a great ***ish boxer.

Incidentally the name "Bummy" was not because he was a bum, but as a pet name from his family. His name was actually the Yiddish version of Avraham, namely "Avrum". (Hebrew Avraham-or Abraham in English)

In Hebrew the "B" and the "V" are the same letter, (looks something like a reversed capital "G") the "B" just also having a tiny centred dot.
