Cotto gets rid of Evangelista, only one question

What the hell took so long? Not only did they not have a good relationship, but from everything I've heard, Cotto basically trains himself. I can't say Evangelista is a bad trainer, I don't know that. But what I can say is that it didn't seem that he was really adding anything to Cotto as a fighter.

Hopefully Cotto can move on from this and find a trainer that can bring him to the next level. And one that won't throw cement blocks at him before a big fight.

With this happening and Cotto's relationship with Top Rank being rough, I can see this next year being one for BIG change. Possibly Golden Boy and a new refined trainer.

It is sad,but thats families for you.Boxing is such a demanding and emotional sport that family ties are always going to get strained, just look at RJJ and Floyd.
I would hate to work with family, its bad enough when you have got friends working for you as I have found out over the years.

I agree. It is sad. But to me, it just seems like Evangelista is kind of a ****.

The father son combo seems to work up to a point, for the most part.

He's going to keep the rest of his team I assume.

I'm more worried about it being a distraction rather then it hindering his training.

Clearly. When I read that he said "I'm the boss", I immediately thought, this guy is a control freak.
