    HBO's "Thrilla in Manila"

Thrilla in Manila: A Must See Event

    :
HBO has put together a compelling piece with its documentary Thrilla in Manila, which is scheduled to be shown Saturday at 8 p.m. on HBO. Those who know the story of the third fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier will be delighted with this piece, told through the eyes for the first time of Frazier.

For those who don't know the story, or bits and pieces of it, will still find the piece more than informative.

The story gives a nice recap of the era in America's history and what happened to change these one-time friends into bitter adversaries, feelings that apparently still linger nearly 25 years later.
HBO uses actual clips from the epic Oct. 1, 1975 fight as well as interviews leading up to that fight.

If you're not going to be around, record it, or wait around for one of the numerous replays that will be shown on HBO and HBO2. Check your local listings for times. It's a keeper.

Thrilla in Manila is part of A Night of Boxing on HBO. After the documentary, Pacquiao/Hatton 24/7 will debut at 9:30 p.m., following by World Championship Boxing featuring Paul Williams vs. Winky Wright as well as Cristobal Arreola against Jameel McCline starting at 10 p.m.

I dont think HBO made this I think it was the More4 documentary which aired in the U.K. And yes it does make you see Ali in a different light and makes you feel for Fraiser big time.

If it is the more4 documentary...it made me see Frazier as a very bitter dude...He likes the fact Ali is the way he is now and believes he is the reason for it and is proud of that...

I lost a bit of respect for Frazier after that

Yeah, the show denitely paints the fighters in a way other documentaries havent before.
