Hopkins to face Williams if Paul gets by Winky?

"We'd like to take the whole Golden Boy team and encourage them to stay firmly in the promotional business," said Goossen. "Starting with Winky Wright, and we'd like Shane Mosley; and George [Peterson, Williams' trainer] and Paul have said they'd be willing to fight Bernard Hopkins at 168 pounds."

"Paul Williams is hoping to come up to 168?" responded Hopkins when told of Goossen's comment. "That would be fantastic. That would be great. I would love it. I'd love it. It's a fight that people would want to see. I think TV would love it. I think it would be a situation, can Bernard Hopkins derail another up-and-coming star?"

Stepping into The Executioner's lair is a trap into which more than one highly touted fighter has fallen -- most recently middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik, who was schooled by Hopkins last October. But to land the big fight he craves, it is a step Williams may feel he has to take.

First, of course, he has to get past Wright. But if he does, Hopkins may well be ready and waiting for him.

"I think it's crazy," said Hopkins of Williams' travels through the weight classes. "I think it's a stress on the body. But if he wants to make it happen, come on."

Paul Williams has been bouncing up and down the weight divisions to land the elusive big fight. But he's packed on the pounds for a shot at Winky Wright.

This is the type of fight we need. I would like to see the Dawson fight also but i cant complain if this fight was to be made.

BHOP should just call it quits.

I don't see any sense in making a Williams fight and leaving Chad Dawson out to dry.

I doubt it happens. Williams has never fought at a high level over 160 and I have no doubt BHop makes the fight at 170

Pipe dream if you ask me.

Nothing but nonsense if you ask me. Hopkins was weight draining badly at the end of his MW career. How is he going to be able to get back to 168 and age 44.

              Come on, that's ridiculous.

Williams, Dawson it doesn't matter both fighters combined draw maybe a couple hundred fans to their matches.

                  It's nothing but talk.

Hopkins' career is likely over. Sadly.
