Nah, off all the champions, why would Khan say Kotelnik of all people.

Then all of a sudden, move up weight class, then face HIM off people?
Seems all to neat. Reckon it was planned, to try and get Kotelnik agree to the bout

Because he is the best option if he was to move up weight and get a good fight....hes now fighting some1 to test how he is at the weight....also would be gaining a belt AND the person wouldnt be considered as hard as any of the other champions....If any1 could get into this kind of position...why wouldnt they jump at it?

Against Hatton? Hatton could sell out Wembley against anyone with a pulse.

Because he's not ready for the elite yet, he hasn't had enough learning fights under Roach. If he beats Kotelnik, what then? He'll need a few learning fights but he may be forced to fight genuinely elite fighters, and he's not ready for that yet. It's a case of short term opportunism over-riding long term strategy.

Good analogy is David Reid, who rushed to get a belt before he was ready, and then got beaten up so badly by Trinidad in his third defence that he was never the same again.

If somebody bothered himself with watching one of Kotelnik fights, he would see that he has GREAT defence and very accurate counter-punching...

But i wouldn`t (if i had something ) beat on Kotelnik... He might , and i`m pretty sure he will, outpunch Khan, but he won`t get the decision anywhere outside Germany... Nobody needs a very skilled ukrainian with weak punching power except ukrainians ... and germans...
this true ppl who are saying khan will kill this guy aint seen him fight, he is a slow starter and an excellent defence, lets look at it without the khan tinted glasses on, kotelnik KO Rees who was undefeated and rees threw everything at him and barley hurt him, also he lost narrowly to Witter who defently hits harder than khan and is probably as fast and infact a much better boxer than khan, infact if h dose beat kotelnik this is a fight that should happen coz witter will kill khan, kotelniks only other loss was to MBaye, if kotelnik lands a shot half as powerful as the one that KO Rees on khans chin no doubt he is going to slumber land, i dont no if maybe khan will be to skilful but i dont think his fearther fisted powerless punches will trouble this guy, Kotelniks biggest problem will be his own work rate and wether he lands that shot to KO khan which i think he reckons he will which is why he has given khan a shot, dont be shocked if khan is exposed again in this fight.

In all seriousness, Kotelnik should take this.
