The only thing fixed about this fight was Tszyu's broken jaw, which apparently was broken by a clinch.
What a bunch of pathetic nonsense. Its Hattons opponents that do most of the clinching because if they didnt they would end up getting a worse battering.

I dont think it was fixed. But Kostya might have gone into the fight knowing that he wasnt going to win, picking up a paycheck never the less.

Hatton starting using the clinch more after he beat Tszyu with it. I don't know if Billy thought it would keep working or Ricky just got into a bad habit from the Tszyu fight. Floyd has Ricky fighting how he used to before Tszyu and is adding a few new wrinkles.

Now that Ricky has a reputation for "holding" he gets all the blame because all you have to do is grab Ricky when he's inside and say he's "holding" me, which is what Collazo did every time even though he was the holding and you not only get a break but a possible point deduction.

This ridiculous "fixed" fight theory fails to explain exactly how or why Showtimes clock "speeding up" would help Hatton. All 3 judges had the fight scored accurately when Tszyu retired on his stool from the relentless beating he took.

You really need to watch Hatton pre-tsyzu for you to appreciate him, Yes he started clinch too much after using the tactics to beat tsyzu..

Don't compare Hatton and Hopkins. The difference in level of competition faced between the two are staggering.

I see your point, and I'm the first to admit that Hopkins had a relatively weak era.

But my point was that Hopkins is unfairly labelled as "boring" because most people have only seen the Calzaghe fight, or the Wright fight, or the Eastman fight.

They never talk about the Trinidad performance, or the Pavlik performance, or some of his most exciting outings defending his Middleweight crown during the 90's.

Because most fans on here have only been watching for a few years. They don't bother to go back and watch the older stuff.

It's the same reason a lot of people here say Roy is overrated : They never watched him do his thing in his prime.

The same is true with Hatton, to a certain extent.

But on the whole, Ricky has more boring fights than Bernard. Yet Ricky is continuously upheld as the more exciting of the two.

this is the worse fight in which hatton clinches but he used the right tactics in roughing up the rough guy and it won him the fight when he was a 7/1 underdog u gota give him credit 4 that.i cant think of another fight where he has excessively clinched
