Based on what we usually see from Clottey, Cotto can win a UD by outworkin Clottey. Not purely outboxin him wit accurate combos, and not by outpunchin him wit power. Just step in and out, let his hands go and hit whatever he can get, impress the judges wit his volume. It's unlikely, but if anybody gets KO'd it'll be Cotto. Clottey got a stronger chin, better defense, and is big enuf that Cotto's body attack won't damage him like other Cotto opponents. If Clottey brings 12 rd stamina to go wit his usual game, he'll beat Cotto. And I think he will. This is one of those fights where the underdog is gonna step his game up and bring some heat we ain't never seen from him imo.
How the hell does Clottey beat Cotto?

Clottey is a big welterweight so he should use his size to his advantage, keep coming forward behind the high guard, he should keep pumping his jab on the way forward so that Cotto can't get himself set to throw his combinations, work Cotto's body with those double or triple left hooks and follow them up with right hands, throw uppercuts once he gets close and lean on Cotto on the inside to wear out his legs, make Cotto work every minute of every round without working too much himself, this tactic may lose him a couple of the early rounds but would pay off big time late in the fight IMO.
I predict Clottey having some weight trouble. There's no way the guy makes 147 easily to begin with but after this long layoff it will be much harder.Comment

That's what I'm not convinced Clottey can do. I agree that that's the right fight plan, but I don't know if Clottey can do that. I see Clottey letting Cotto dictate the pace, falling behind, and not having the gas to recover in time.

We'll see when they fight but I think he can if he does it right, as I said, move forward behind the high guard, keep putting pressure on Cotto, keep making him move and punch, Clottey wouldn't have to punch too much to make Cotto work but he has to do it the right way. We'll see if he can.
What if Cotto is the one going forward, WTF Clottey will do then.
What if Cotto gets prepare to go foward and to throw punches in bunches. If Cotto takes the fight to Clottey. Clottey will have to fight back. And if he does hell get tire ass ****!!!!!!!!!!1Comment

Your basing this, thinking that Cotto will go backwards.

I think Cotto won more impressively against Zab Judah but that doesn't really mean **** since styles make fights. And some zab judah fans and cotto haters only point to the low blows and try to discredit Cottos win over zab. Clottey has good defense but he was getting hit enough to give zab rounds. I forget how I scored it but, I know I had clottey winning but by only a couple of rounds before zab quit.Comment

Watching parts of the clotteys fights on youtube, clottey worries more about his defense then actually throwing punches constantly, he seems to be always worried about being countered so his workrate isn't always the highestComment

Clottey is a come forward, high guard defensive counter puncher.Cotto has been hurt in the past by Corley.I'm a fan of both, but Clottey is bigger and more durable than Cotto,Either 1 can certainly win,but I believe Clottey's strength in this fight will be a huge factor!!People try to make it seem like anyone picking Clottey is a Cotto hater, not true,I hold no bias in this,I just believe Clottey takes this one!!Comment
