agree with that larry - the guy imo has the beating of every fighter between 168-175 he is if anything underrated but right now he needs the fights and wins to prove he is the real deal.

nevertheless having watched him in action against good fighters like beyer, mundine, calzaghe, lucas and andrade its pretty hard not to think that he isn't the top dog at SMW. its not just who hes beat but how well he has beat them (exception being joe obviously).

his prime is being wasted, and his true potential is unrevealed at this point. such a shame.

3 time champ? i dont think so. he aint no champ. 3 time belt holder which means absolutely nothing when you consider you can fight jennings or sartisson and get a belt nowadays. only silly fans get impressed by belt achievements.

This I have to agree with. While Kessler is certainly the best 168lber in the world, the fact that he's a three-time champ means little in today's game. It's why I snicker every time I hear someone bragging about Oscar being a ten-time champ for instance. The easiest comeback to that is: Oh yeah? Who did he beat for those belts?

He's a bit overrated. He's a good fighter and probably the best at 168, but he can't adapt imo.

He has a decent resume, which is overrated by some and underrated by a lot of people. Until Hopkins was like "Who's Kessler", Kessler was very regarded around here.

I have been a fan for years and it is frustrating to see him fight guys so far below his level. IMO he definately beats everyone around right now between 160 and 175, with the only real question mark being Chad Dawson. That would be a very close fight IMO.
im going to agree with this post. but only cos i like the avatar.

No one overrates him anymore. He gets **** on now for his lack of ambition. He's wastin his talent, and the shine he got from a tough showin in his loss to Joe C.

                      He's completely overrated.

Super Middleweight is a pretty weak division to begin with, and the thing most people recognize him for is losing to Calzaghe. The biggest name in his win column is Librado Andrade.

Mikkel is a very good technical fighter, probably one of the best I've seen from 160-175 in the last 10 years or so. But he doesn't seem concerned with making any headway as far as big fights go, or making any sort of legacy. He seems content to piss it away fighting less than stellar opposition in Europe for good money.

I'd love to see him fight at 175.

Or hell, go fight Miranda. He's the easiest target out there, and Kessler would demolish him, and pick up some nice publicity to boot.
