Why "The Battle of East and West"?

I can think of many reasons why but none of them are really meaningful. I could think of a whole bunch of other names for the fight. So does any one know exactly why they called it that? I think I know why, but like i said, it doesent really seem meaningful.

Seems obvious enough. One guy is from the East and one guy is from the West. Not too imaginative but I get the reference.

I always thought it should be Man vs. Man.
