Current Boxing Champions - Only a few have multiple belts

In light of the IBF possibly forcing Clottey to fight a pointless mandatory or strip him of his belt, resulting in the Cotto fight to be a non-unification bout, I took a look at our current champions in all of the weight classes.

Explore the current list of boxing champions across all weight classes. Find out who holds the titles in each division, updated regularly on BoxingScene.

Out of all the names, and in the four major bodies (WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF), these are the ONLY guys that have two belts (not including The Ring Belt):

    Wladimir Klitschko - IBF, WBO
    Kelly Pavlik - WBC, WBO
    Timothy Bradley - WBC, WBO
Juan Manuel Marquez - WBA, IBF
    Celestino Cabbelaro - WBA, IBF

And there is only ONE name with three belts:
Vic Darchinyan - WBC, WBA, IBF

It really sucks and hurts our sport that we cannot have more unified champions. Most divisions have four champs, some you never even heard of or guys that are basically up & comers. It pisses me off when I hear about these corrupt organizations doing whatever they can to NOT allow a unification to occur. Greedy bastards.

Anyways, it irritates me and thought I'd point it out. Also, much props to all the fighters that actually try to unify, it does mean something. Carry on.

You'd think the sanctioning bodies would feel good about their champion beatin the other champs and consolidatin the belts, but that would mean they actually gave a **** about their champs. $ hungry bastards are shady as hell, but doubtful they'll go away anytime soon. Alphabet belts bring visibility, so not many fighters are willin to **** on em and strictly focus on Ring belts.

JMM holds the WBA and WBO belts, not IBF.

Some of this is due to the frequency with which unified titleholders are stripped, as well as belts being vacated.

Pavlik for instance should legitimately hold all 4 titles at MW.

Bradley only has 2 belts? I thought he had 2 and then got 1 more from beating Holt. Who is the Junior Welterweight WBA and IBF champion? I think Kotelnik has one and Ricky Hatton has the IBO.

I believe Urango has the IBF title. Kotelnik is WBA. Hatton is Ring.

Malinaggi got stipped of the IBF because he had the cheek to fight Hatton over Ngoudjo

I mean obviously, why would he want to fight Hatton.

Only they waited until the night before the fight so he could wear it at the weigh in.
