Anyway, Gelsenkirchen is a wonderful ground, and I think it has a retractable roof which is obviously an important factor, nobody loves Chelsea more than me but that is a better ground than us.
Unlike Boxing matches, Germans make a lot of noise at football matches and are very passionate. In Germany, football is still the game of the people; tickets are very affordable, and I think Borussia Dortmund-a fairly average team have higher attendances than any football club in Europe aside from Barcelona.
This is good news, there could be an atmosphere unlike any other German hosted boxing event.
Is Schalke the name of a city? If not, what city is the stadium in?
Fuck I so wanna go to this fight. When I get back to England on Friday I will have to see if my overdraft can take any more of a bashing. Any clue when tickets will go on sale?
I've been thinking about a trip to Europe for years - no better time than June 2009!
Gelsenkirchen is the city........and the venue is called Veltins-Arena
Thanks. I've never heard of Gelsenkirchen before - funny that such a major football club and stadium should be in a city that is so unknown (compared with cities like Bonn, Hamburg, Berlin, Dortmund, etc.)
