Khan: "Fighting MAB again would not prove anything

"Amir Khan says he has no intention of fighting Marco Antonio Barrera again saying such a bout would not prove anything.

Khan saw off the Mexican legend with a fifth-round TKO win in March after Barrera suffered a cut in a clash of heads.

Barrera’s camp want to take on the 22-year-old Bolton fighter again but Khan has ruled out any rematch, despite Don King’s claims that the fight should have been stopped when his man was cut and declared a no contest.

“There is no point in fighting Barrera again,” lightweight Khan was quoted as saying by The Sun.

“Before I boxed him there were experts lining up to tell me I shouldn’t fight him because he was a dangerous big puncher. After I beat him those experts said Barrera was over the hill.

“So if I beat an over-the-hill fighter again what would it mean - nothing.”

Khan’s next fight is scheduled for June 27, with David Diaz the preferred opponent and London’s O2 the likely venue."

He's right, Khan's too fast for MAB.

Go back and fight Prescott Amir.

Agreed. Barrera is shot so he cant keep up with Khan. Also, hes too small to take Amir out with one shot.
