Floyd has better pure defense. He can stand in the pocket, or on the ropes and you just can't get a direct hit on the man. If he's faster, he will potshot and move all night and then when you get inside you just can't land anything directly.
Winky has a very tight defense, keeps his head behind his knee and keeps the jab ahead of everything but he still walks down his opponents. Being a southpaw helps, and he is great at working the angles.
Two defensive masterminds, but I'd say Winky is a combination of intelligent aggression, stiff jabs and a tight guard where Floyd's main attribute is his elusiveness and timing.Comment

It's really not a matter of "who's better", because both Floyd and Ronald are amazing defensive technicians.
It's a matter of choice : Which do you prefer, of the two completely different styles.
Floyd's shoulder roll defense is more eye catching than Winky's high guard, that much is certain.
What I'd really like to see, is somebody compile a list of some sort, taking into account both fighters' 5 best performances, and crunch the numbers to see who got hit more in each individual fight.
And then take each fighter's performances in those fights, and crunch the numbers to get an average of punches landed, and times hit.
Then you'll have your answer.Comment
