Naw no hate on DLH he's done as much for the sport as anybody in the history of boxing!!!! I may have hated him the last couple years but i cant take anything away from the guy for what he has done in the ring and outside as a promoter. His influence in boxing will still continue to be high in boxing as a sole promoter now
If Oscar retires...

Very well said and I will even go one further than that. I think if it was not for Oscar, boxing would have taken a serious blow.If Oscar retires, Which i strongly believe he will announce in a few days, i dont wanna hear all the people on here calling him a ***** and a *****. OK, alot of people may not like Oscar, expecially after his loss to Manny, that is your guys opinion and you are certainly entitled to it, i will not try to make you an Oscar fan here, however i will ask all of you as boxing fans to atleast show a little respect to a man who excaped the ****** of east LA and has become truely one of the greatest fighters of our generation and the richest. Ocar did this the right way to, by fighting everybody, and showing time and time again even after a loss he could come back and win against adversity.
If you dont like Oscar thats ok, but a man who is a 10 time world champ in 6 differnt weight classes i think deserves a little respect from all of us....
Think about this, every decade comes a fighter that captures the attention of not only boxing fans but people around the world that aren't necessary hardcore boxing fans.
In the 70's it was Ali, in the 80's it was Mike Tyson and Sugar Ray Leonard and in the 90's it was without a doubt Oscar DeLahoya.
We are missing that charismatic fighter in this decade. I think some people were expecting Floyd Mayweather to be that guy but his retirement and his antics I think have taken away from his legacy.
Oscar DeLahoya single handedly kept boxing afloat in the 90's and to today and garnished interest in a sport which has always been in the fringe minds of most casual sports fans.
I also think Oscar has a chance of making a bigger impact as a promoter than he did as a boxer and that is saying a lot.

I hope he doesnt retire. Oscar isnt shot, his preperation was simply awful against Manny, he, or rather his team, got it all so wrong.
Oscar certainly has at least one more classic in him, and i for one would love to see him finish his career on a high, taking anther world title belt, but at no lower that 154
the man is a legend of this era, and thus deserves much, much respect for it.
Definately at least one more fight.Comment

When oscar retires i'll be happy.. That way I won't have to see him lose any more big fights he haven't conditioned for just for money.. pissing his legacy awayComment

Against Arthur Abraham atleast...I hope he doesnt retire. Oscar isnt shot, his preperation was simply awful against Manny, he, or rather his team, got it all so wrong.

Im a fan of the younger Oscar, i hate the older version though but the man does deserve respect on the day of his "Retirement" ....im with you 100%.Comment

personally i'd like to see him fight Kelly Pavilk, perhaps at a catch weight of 157/8 if not the full middle.
Two very popular US fighters, two belts on the line (if at 160). Has massive potential, and i think Oscar would box him all day long to an easy points victory.Comment

De La Hoya had only 45 fights which is not really that many but they were against very good opposition.
In his resume he fought guys like Whitaker, Camacho, Chavez Sr., Quartey, Trinidad, Mosley, Vargas, Hopkins, Mayweather Jr., and Pacquiao. He may have lost a lot of those big fights but he still gave the boxing world its own share of classics. Lots of respect from me for that.Comment
