I've always said this fight was a toss up.
Floyd definitely can win this fight, but so can Cotto. If Cotto were a one-dimensional fighter I can see where Floyd mops the floor with him. But as seen in previous fights, Cotto finds ways to get you. He has percise punching and has a really good pop behind his right hand and most definitely his jab.
For Floyd it's about his defense and clinching with Cotto when he tries getting inside and popping him as he backs up. Plus, Floyd is a very accurate puncher and he'd have to utilize his right hand on Cotto who seems susceptible to them, though he can still take a really good punch.
With Cotto, it's about his jab and getting to the body when Floyd tries to roll. If he can throw a jab - left hook to the body combos gradually throughout the fight along with his accurate punching, Floyd will be in for a long night. Cotto doesn't try to maul you from the jump as Oscar and Hatton tried doing before. He's very patient and like Floyd figures out his opponent through the course of a fight.
Both are heavily skilled with Cotto possibly having the harder punches and Floyd being the better defender. Either guy has a chance, but if i were to pick a winner right now I'd go with Cotto. But he'd have to have the fight of his life and I think he's capable.Comment

At the end of the day man, anything can happen in Boxing. I don't believe any fighter is invincible. I remember a time when Roy Jones was THE untouchable fighter that everyone thought would never be beat...and we all saw what happened there.
IMO I think a lot of people pick Floyd to win off GP and don't look at what someone like Cotto would bring to the table.Comment
