Dimitrenko Not Impressed By Povetkin, Wants Showdown

Alexander Dimitrenko (29-0, 19KOs) was not impressed by what he saw over the weekend. On Saturday night in Germany, Alexander Povetkin (17-0, 12KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Jason Estrada. Dimitrenko and Povetkin are up and coming heavyweights for rival promotional companies in Germany. Dimitrenko with Universum and Povetkin with Sauerland Event. [details]

This would be an awesome fight and have big reprecussions on the division. Not to mention what it would do the winner's career. However, it's not fiscally responsible for Povetkin, which is a shame. Why give up a more lucrative fight for what could possibly a more dangerous fight? But in a perfect world, this fight is a must.

Povetkin would win by decision or late KO. Look at Dimitrenko's resume for christ sakes. The guy has 30 fights and his best win is Luan Krasniqi... That is so sad. And Povetkin has less fights 17 fights and has fought the better competition, Chambers, Byrd, Estrada... Wow, poor Dimitrenko

Some of you people who have hate for Povetkin should learn to look at their resumes before you **** on Povetkin. I know resumes aren't everything but it shows that one was willing to fight the better competition even with less fights. And thats Povetkin

Povetkin should say "make the f**king fight" to his promoters.

True I was talking about the Povetkin from saturday night he didnt look very good but i put that more down to ring rust and not being in great shape, I have seen plenty of his fights and that was the worst i have seen from him.

Dimitrenko did stop Timo Hoffman who once went the distance with Vitali Klitschko.

His resume isn't great but he seems to be willing to step up in competition now.

In my opinion Povetkin has been fighting opponents who were pretty much made for his style. I'd be interested to see how he would deal with the bigger Dimitrenko.

I'd rather see that fight than have Povetkin fight one of the Klitschkos too early on. He hasn't fought anybody that resembles Wladimir in style. Byrd, Chambers, Estrada and Donald might be good boxers but they can't punch like the Klitschko brothers can nor do they have the size and the reach.

Triangle theories don't work and Vitali's improved since that guy who went the distance with Vitali.
