His trainer was absolute crap in that Diaz fight. You cannot turn a brawler into a boxer and hope to outbox natural boxers. Best you can do is tighten the defense and let him brawl on the inside vs. more talented boxers. He may have actually have had a chance to win against Diaz if he just stood toe to toe since he has more power than Diaz. I hate it when trainers try and turn brawlers into boxers it's never going to work. It was like Gatti trying to
outbox Mayweather Jr. Total suicide. Should have just crowded him and swung for the fences.Comment

Cmon guys, You guys are underating him by alot. Are you guys forgetting that he very nearly knocked out (Out of the ring) an elite lightweight in Joel Casmayor before turning it up and getting caught?
Micheal is exactly what Boxing needs right now I cant beleive you guys arent itching to see more of him. He is an agressive power puncher with a decent chin and he has a great personality.
Sure he may not be Pernell Whitaker but thats not his style, I thought it was disgusting how he got booed by the croud after the Diaz loss in Texas, even the HBO commentators were saying that he is not a man that should be booed.
While he is unlikely to be at the top of the division unless his style meshes extremley well with the current beltholder, he is certain to create very exciting fights that are what is needed to help bring boxing back from the brink.
Dont embarrass yourself by calling him a stepping stone, put him up against the Khan that beat a shot Barerra and you have a repeat of the Prescott fight.

he is definitely an above average fighter, and he has some skills (you dont get to that kind of level without skill) and i think he may win a belt in the near future....but he wont be a p4p rated fighterComment

Oi Kostya, is it just me or does that bum Mundine get about 5x the exposure of the clearly more accomplished Katsidis on TV and in the papers?....Terrible.Comment

I didn't watch the whole fight, but was Katsidis losing to chavez before he stopped Chavez? And doesn't chavez have so many injuries its not even funny. I think I heard has leg problems and hand problems all the time. I watched the first, two rounds and decided to fast forward to the end to spoil the fight but it seemed to me that chavez won the first two rounds. Did he win most of the rounds before getting stopped? Not a good sign from someone who supposenly always has injuries to be out-pointing Katsidis.Comment
