I agree, neither Valero or Guzman deserve a shot at the big guys, they have done nothing to deserve it.
But they should fight each other or Khan like you said.
Personally I think Guzman has put his self way out of the loop, Valero just fought and so did Khan. So if Guzman does get a break and doesn't chicken out, he will have just enough room to fight in 2009(making it one fight this year)one in 2008 and one in 2007....thats why he sucks!

I agree. JMM has nothing to prove to a scrub like Valero. I wouldnt mind seeing JMM beat up on Hatton though.

Only cuz he's afraid Soto will demolish that piece of trash Valero. Arum is smarter than that.
I'd LOVE to see it personally though.

Pacquiao would have fought Soto last November if it weren't for De La Hoya. If Guzman beats someone of note or gets a title, then he's in the running too. Valero all but got that clause in his contract; signed to Arum pretty much just for that fight. Arum wants Pacquiao to keep winning, but he doesn't really give a ****t about pitting 2 of his own fighters against each other.

He put Margarito with loaded gloves against Cotto and was talking about getting Paqcuiao to fight Cotto, but he wouldn't put him in there against Valero, Guzman, or Soto? Arum promises these fights to them and as long as they keep winning they're gravy.
During the post fight interview it was clear that Valero was after JMM and Arum backed him up as well regarding that match. Guys like Pac and Hatton are after Mayweather Jr. so I doubt JMM will ever get a chance to fight them unless PBF comes out of retirement and uses JMM as a tuneup fight. Valero vs. JMM for lightweight supremacy is the most logical fight to be made.

True, his inactivity is horrible for someone without a title, but if it weren't for the garbage Mississippi commission he would be fighting Romanav this Spring/Summer.

Just so you know, your post doesn't make much sense. Why wouldn't Arum want Soto to beat Valero? Soto is Mexican so he has a bigger and better opportunity at having a bigger fanbase and getting more money than Valero from Venezuela. The only thing Valero has going for himself better than Soto is his record.

That's just to build him up for Pacquiao, Valero's main reason to sign to Arum has been to fight Pacquiao. If it weren't, he would have signed to Golden Boy like all the other lightweights. Without a doubt, JMM will fight the winner and loser of Pacquiao-Hatton; the only way JMM fights Valero is if he doesn't want to stay waiting around for one of them.

                J.
Personally I don't think it has to do with the commission, I believe his heart isn't into boxing or he is trying to stay a hero in a place where boxing isn't so great.
He is kind of king of boxing in DR and he wants to keep it like that for as long as possible.
A pro boxer can get a fight if he wants for no title, up and comers, journey men, and plenty of bums that need the money, Examples of guys doing this are, Gamboa, Kirkland,Angulo,Paul Williams, Andre Berto, and even the lowly Chavez Jr(even if most are bums) and plenty more. These guys are fighting like every 3-4 months to make a name and a mark in boxing.
Everyone needs a buck especially during these times so he can if he wants.

He isn't exactly pussing out if he would rather fight two of the best fighters of this generation. It's not like he's ducking Valero for a mandatory title defense against some tomato can.

You should really rethink your comment.

With his chin on a show like it has been, JMM would stop him in 6
I could not think of a worst matchup currently, for Valero.
