    If PAC-HATTON will be HEARNS-HAGLER...

Roach has predicted that this fight would turn out to be like hearns-hagler..If PAC-HATTON will be HEARNS-HAGLER, who will be the "hagler" on this fight?I believe that Ricky's style is much more similar to hagler than Pac's style..I hope that Pac would throw combinations like hearns because Im definitely sure that Hagler's chin was more sturdy than that of hatton..we might not even see the 3rd round if pac starts the fight like hearns did..

People like to hype fights by comparing it to exciting fights. I've heard fighters/trainers on a number of occasion say "this will be like Hagler-Hearns".

While neither really have similar styles, there may be some similarities.

Hagler was a boxer-puncher who fought like a super aggressive attacker for the Hearns fight. While Hatton is an aggressive fighter, it's a different sort of aggression than Hagler had in that fight (in addition to a different stance).

Hearns had to trade to get Hagler off of him and get some respect. He had some success mid-way thru round 1 boxing, but Hagler cut off the ring and got him on the ropes and punished him.

In some slight similarity to Hagler-Hearns, I think Hatton will try to impose his strength and size (he's stockier and more used to fighting at 140, as DLH at 147 didn't exactly impose his size on Pac) on Pacquiao and apply pressure. If Hatton does a good job of this, then Pacquiao will likely get into exchanges to get some respect from Hatton and make Hatton come in more deliberately. I think body punches may be key for Pac. Pacquiao will also look to mainly that straight left hand and slide out after it.

wow..yeah hearns was the hitman..maybe thats why roach stated that this one will be like hearns-hagler not because of styles but because the hitman is going down again..

i think freddie roach is saying this bull**** to pump pac up for an early ko....i see this fight the later it goes the more it will be suited to hatton's style.....and roach knows this and does not want a war that is a gritty, long, and brutal to be a late round affair....that just imo

                  Nah...

Pac will have a heavy edge in this fight. Hatton will make a good fight out of it, but Manny's athleticism and skills are going to be the attraction of this fight.

Heans-Hagler was an ATG fight this fight won't come close to that. IMHO Hatton is not an exciting fight all he does is rush in an hold, hug and maul on the inside. Just doesn't get me excited. I think Pac-May would be much more exciting.
