Boxers don't stop using their most effective tactics just because they want to, its because their opponent is doing something to take that weapon away.

People who picked Holt can't help but be frustrated cuz he lost a fight that looked winnable. But no, it ain't like he just laid down and let Bradley win. I think Bradley took his heart by just marchin forward and throwin like crazy.

but where do you draw the line between excuse making and the truth

because if someone were to say Bradley outworked Kendall Holt ... I think that sounds like a pretty accurate statement to me

considering fighters can win fights on punch activity,

so where do you draw the line between excuse making

and explaining reasons for the loss?

People on this forum kept crying that Holt stopped using his jab. Of course he stopped using his jab, are some people blind. Bradley was moving alot and throwing alot of punches. He discouraged Holt from using the jab because Holt was afraid to get countered if he missed fast moving Bradley. I know bradley isn't a knock-out artist but he still has enough pop behind some of his punches to get a knock-down or so. Using the jab works good when your opponent stands right infront of you, but Bradley was moving alot in angles at times.

Theirs a reason why he didn't throw his jab more often, its because of the movement of Bradley.
Not only that, but the announcers even mention that its a recurring theme with Holt not to throw his jab enough. Its not the first time he has done that in a fight. You can't just assign guys skills and attributes they don't show a pattern of exhibitng.

i wouldn't know, man. i'm just here to talk about boxing. i have no clue who is who, aside from a few users who post in the training forum.

as for the original post: i think bradley fought awesome tonight and won the fight. part of that was because holt wasn't doing enough to keep bradley at bay. even after the first knockdown holt was too reserved. bradley landed some good punches, especially to the body, that affected holt later on. still, i think holt's biggest problem in the fight was mental. i don't know what it was. i don't know if it was caused by bradley, a previous fight, or some outside influence.

i don't think that's disrespecting bradley. he fought well and showed heart and grit. it just looked to me like holt was fighting way below his best.

I have a topic I posted earlier no one responded too, but it says I was rooting for Holt because he was from New Jersey. Hahaha, I remember being so happy when Holt knocked down Bradley. And I was like east coast wins!!! And then Bradley recovered amazingly well from the knock down. The whole fight I was rooting against Bradley because of the whole east-coast/west-coast thing. And then I gain respect from bradley after I saw how much heart he has. Anyone who takes a punch like that and gets back up to win the fight has a heart of a lion.
