15-0 Fernando Vargas vs Alfredo Angulo

At 15-0, Fernando had won all 15 fights inside the distance and had just stopped Yori Boy Campas for the IBF 154lbs title.

Currently Alfredo Angulo is 15-0 w/ 12 wins insided the distance. He'll be fighting the hard punching Kermit Cintron in May.

At 15-0, Fernando would have been the faster of the two and the better boxer. Alfredo undoubtedly has better beard and is probably the harder puncher, despite having the lesser KO ratio.

Who would win a fight between the 15-0 Fernando Vargas and the current Alfredo Angulo?

Maybe Vargas by stoppage. Hard to call though. Angulo is a monster, just a tad on the slow side.

This is a technical mismatch. Vargas would out box Angulo and stop him late. Angulo is very exciting, but his defense and skill level is not good enough to cope with Vargas in his prime who was one of the best junior middleweights i have seen. It took a prime Trinidad to get rid of Vargas when he was on his hot streak.

Vargas was a true puncher, and Angulo has not faced someone with that kind of power before or even a natural puncher.

Angulo may have a better career before its done, or at least longer, but at 15-0 Vargas was far more advanced. Easy points win.

Well, Vargas was a good puncher. He had a lot of stoppage victories, but he was never a one punch, concussive puncher, the kind of puncher it would take to hurt Angulo. Kermit Cintron is that type of puncher; we'll see how good Angulo's chin is when he fights Kermit.
