I know Dmitriy Salita had been angling hard to get a shot at Kotelnik, having earned a #1 spot w/o having fought anyone of note. I wonder if he'll challenge Ortiz if Ortiz wins.

not only rising, but being a crowd pleaser,,,champs like bradley just bore the fans, this guy has some skills and wants to fight, not bore his fans,i respect guys like that...you can have skills and defense but still fight and not go around hugging and holding your opponent all night long...only a few like him exist..

agee, nothing like fighting with a champ for the title instead of going all your career fighting vacants...who cares who you have faced, you need to fight champions, thats why i respect guys like darchinyan, has faced several champions and others only vacants

great piece of matchmaking by victors promoter!
kotelnic is one of the weakest "world" champions around!
anyone who thinks kotelnic is a dangerouse opponent based on the fact that he went the distance with a woefully inconsistant jnr witter(while still losing) is dreaming!!
a below par witter is the best fighter kotelnic has fought and he still lost!!
kotelnic is on the same level as malignaggi, corley or ndou!
good match for ortiz but dont get too carried away if he wins!

Victor Ortiz deserves the title shot much more than Salita, who is a mediocre fighter with a very padded record.

Ortiz is the real deal. I don't like the idea of Universum throwing Kotelnik to the wolves, but Victor definitely deserves it and would soon be champion at 140 anyway.

Good for Ortiz, this will line him closer to a unification, as fr John I hope this fight card is not headed for Texas, John got robbed...

This was unexpected, I hope John gets just officiating this time around. I can't believe Kotelnik accepted this either

Universum just signed Kotelnik this year, and they're already cashing him out?

Andreas is a very good fighter, but Victor Ortiz is going to be a great one.

I have it on good information that this is not a done deal and that Kotelnik does not want to fight Ortiz. I hear that Kotelnik will fight someone else in a few months - though not Salita either.

Kotelnik is an OK fighter, Ortiz should destroy him
