    This is what I said:

That's all. Most of what your ranting has nothing to with what I said.

I have never said that Duran dominated Leonard. Please find where I've said anything of that sort.

    Here's something interesting:

"If I had to fight Duran again," said Leonard, "I would not change my style. I know I surprised a lot of people at how well I could punch and take a punch. But I fought the way I felt was best to beat Duran."
OK, I back of direct attributing my response to you. However, your uoting of he scores is pretty mucch what i said .. insteds of 5-2... 4-2-1 on two cards and 4-3 on another. 8th round clearly leonards, 5-2-1 (which is what i said) on two cards, 5-3 on antother. That means that Ray was prettym much dominating the early action. If you carry that score out to 15 rounds. He wins by 4-5 points meaning easy victory. Yes there is room to come back but, Duran showed no ability to do so after leonard adjusted to him after 4 rounds in their first fight, and more assuradly what was happening in New Orleans. Stranger things have happened though.

As for your quote...great stuff. Ray always thought he could beat duran and get this machine....He even thought going into the Hagler fight he could (at that time) out fight hagler toe to toe....I do not know what he was smoking. If it was not for Dundee coming to camp and at the last minute switchin his style, combined with him getttinig rocked by Quincy taylor, we may have seen ray get brutally beaten in his fight with hagler.

Sugar Ray listened to this and when the press asked him how he would fight Duran in the rematch he turned around and said "Not flat footed!", he showboated throughout the fight making Duran look like an amateur, forcing Duran to quit.
I saw both of those docs too, but Leonard usually fought flat-footed anyway. Documentaries often simplify things, but there's often more to it.

Duran was frustrated and mentally beat. The taunting wasn't actually that new for Duran, as Viruet had done some taunting against Duran as well, but Duran was losing this time.

Again, I agree that the notion that Leonard had the wrong game plan in the first fight. But it wasn't as if he changed his style and fought more flat-footed because of Duran's mind games. Leonard usually fought flat-footed.

        i agree. co sign
although what makes Srl win duran better than duran win over srl..
was that Srl beat duran mentally and physically. to the point where duran quit. Instead of taking a for sure 4 more rounds of embarrassment. So he just quit

Agreed but in my opinion Duran was actually winning the 8th round against Leonard until he quit at the end of it.

Just a shocking turn of events.

Are you smoking crack. Leonard was hitting duran with flush shots time after time in that round. Dammm anyone that thinks duran was winning that round, is completely smoking. In fact Leoanrd was getting planted on his shots for the 1st timme in that fight, and was catching Duran.

Wow, my man machine. Come on buddy.

Duran landed a couple of jabs..Leoanrd caught Duran with several hard shots towards the later part of that round before duran quit. All Duran landed was a couple of jabs.
