Even in the case where Arum would try holding him back (which is what I think you're insinuating), why would he jeopardize the opportunity to make more money off of Cotto before he leaves (contracts ends at the end of the year)? Cotto hasn't "Officially" come out and said he's leaving Top Rank.

Clottey is probably piised all the time, and hungrier than a man in a Darfur refugee camp. To him this fight means life or death, and to Cotto it means money for renovations to his mansion in PR. Clottey will probably put a hurting on Cotto.Comment

Only reason I don't see that happening is because Clottey win or lose isn't a marketable fighter. He has no where near the fan base of Cotto's and even with a win over Cotto, Clottey won't be a superstar overnight. Cotto's proven he can pack crowds and the fact that the actual event is almost pretty much FOR Cotto, it's tough for me to see Arum gamble with Cotto's future when he has the biggest chance of all Arum's fighters (along with Pacquiao) to get the big money fights. As much as I'm a fan of Clottey's too, I don't see him fighting any big profile fights. The closest IMO would MAYBE be against Mosley, but even that's a push.Comment
