    Boxers that are known for counterpunching/smart fighting

    Hi guys I just want to ask all of you to post here some of the best counterpunchers/smart fighters in the history of boxing like juan manuel marquez and floyd mayweather jr. Im just going to watch their fights and try to learn techniques from it. thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    hopkins is one of the smartest fighters ever imo

        willie pep, floyd mayweather jr, ali, pernell whitaker, ricardo lopez, toney, hopkins of course, i'd even say calzaghe, floyd patterson, no doubt. larry holmes, prime mike tyson(not so much counterpunching although he did do that pretty well, his overall game was very good and was elusive for his size and very smart.), duran-imo a brawler with skill, used his style very effectively,

        of course floyd is numero uno as far as smart technique goes, with hopkins and ali next.

                  i'll add some more. roy jones, because of his style, was extremely hard to beat him his prime, most likely the smartest of his time, best fighter of his time also. calderon of course and george tha animal steel, steve austin(stone cold), hogan, rock, hhh, son of sam, mary who had the the lamb that was little, ricky the dragon steamboat, and a few others. more yet come.

                    I would say JMM..this guy has all the tools in boxing..counter punching of course is his specialty..The first time I watched the JMM-Diaz fight, I thought Diaz was beating the hell out of JMM..But when I watched it the second time, I saw Marquez winning the early exchanges..It just seems that diaz was winning because he was the one pressuring and pushing the fight
